About the author
Hena Khan grew up in Maryland, as the second of four children born to Pakistani immigrants. She earned an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University.
Prior to becoming an author, Khan worked with non-profit health and research organizations as a writer and editor.
She won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Children's Literature in 2022 and has authored or co-authored more than twenty picture and middle-grade books.
From a crescent moon to a square garden to an octagonal fountain, this picture book celebrates the shapes and traditions of the Muslim world.
A wonderfully illustrated work with a rhyming sing-song text that is a delight from start to finish.
