About the author

Fatima Barkatulla is a British Islamic scholar, author and and award-winning international lecturer.

She has had a rich Islamic education from an early age thanks to her parents, studying Arabic and Islamic studies in Egypt. She went on to complete a Masters in Islamic Law with Distinction at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London and English Law at postgraduate level at Kings College London.

Islamic history is full of great legends, and amongst the greatest of them is the first mother of the believers, Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid رضي الله عنه.

She was the first wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the first believer at the time when his people rejected him. Her support is a lesson for all.
